Size of disk brake pads
Hi all,
the disc breaking pads of my MTB is totally weared out, but the bike is old and there is no brand or model name on the brakes, so I don't know exactly which break pads to buy. All the local shops just say they don't have that sort of pad anymore, so I'm looking in the internet. But the sites which sell disk break pads do not give their dimension
The pads I have are round with more or less 25mm diameter (~1in):
I'm wondering if these pads I've found here will fit:
https://www.flowsport.no/forside/Sykk...000001166.aspx
Any help?
Thanks and enjoy your ride

From memory these are either Hayes hmx pads or tektro io/promax pads. Look those up and compare the pictures.

That's a common pad type for unbranded calipers, as #tomcropod notes, it from Tektro/Promax, time to find a new LBS who can help you.

The BBB pads for Avid look very promising. Try looking up pictures of Avid BB5 brakes (or even the owner's manual here) to see if they are the same as you have. Although they might have changed a bit during the years, I don't know about that.

This is not bb5 pad, which has a longer arm/tab and a recess in the back for a spring to sit into. These are held into the calliper using a magnet on the piston.

That looks like the Tektro IOX mechanical disc brake pads. https://www.tektro.com/_english/01_pr...s&sort=1&fid=4

Hei all,
thanks for all the help. Finally found the pads.
The calipers are Promax, and I found these pads here
which look exactly the same, so I've ordered and they match
They're a2z AZ-720, for Promax DKS mechanical.
Cheers

I think I found a compatible pad
I came here (years after the last post) looking for this same pad for an old mountain bike, and while the links above may not work yet I think I found a compatible pad here :
Description:
NVP-22
Product size: about 34x25mm/1.34*0.98in
Thickness: 6mm/0.24in
Thickness: 4mm/0.15in
Net weight: About 20g
Tip: This is a thin one with a thick one.
1 Pair US $5.49
(The 25mm is the circumference)
Or just shop Ebay for disc brake pads nvp-22 and click Include description
Hope this helps.
