Peugeot PKN-10

I picked up this Peugeot PKN10 at a garage sale for $10. I didn’t even bargain with the lady. It cleaned up nicely and I completely
stripped it to the frame and rebuilt everything. The Peugeot saddle was broken so it now sports an older Unica #3. But I bought
a Ideale saddle from a forum member that will replace this one. It dates to 1981 I think.
The dog is a 2017 papillon, and goes well with the bike. Bill

Components show almost no wear. Nice pickup and cleanup. Very little difference from the '82 PXN10 I owned. Should ride nice.

Do you make dog wear yogurt cup when going walkies so that folk will think it a biter?

Cables

Yes, trim the cables and replace with vintage Weinmann’s. I restored it about 15 years ago when I wasn’t as meticulous.

Papillons

Great looking dogs. I bet the two of them might get in a little trouble occasional. Bill

Nice score, and fine job overhauling! Just curious, did you discover what the bottom bracket threads were. And does anyone have a suggestion for the Weinman hoods, I tried some Rustines, but the fit wasn’t great.

Bottom Bracket

I don’t recall a problem with the BB threading,
but the bb didn’t quite adjust perfectly with
just a very slight amount of play left. The headset
and hubs adjusted to perfection.
Thanks for all your comments, Bill.

My 1980 PKN-10 definitely had a Swiss threaded BB. Delightful ride, and very versatile, with generous tire clearance. I would have kept it if it had been 2 cm shorter and lower.

I found Weinmann 999-compatible brake hoods on eBay a few years ago, and they fit pretty decently.
