Campagnolo chain ring compatibility

Clearly there are the two limitation of record vs other and bcd. Oh and these are rings for 5-point mounts
Crank arms dictate both of the above with the hidden mount of the record driving the pin location to be in alignment with the mount vs between mounts

With those limitations, are the rings interchangeable or are there other criteria that dictates compatibility? This might include ring sets too.

I purchased a nice C-Record set and was wondering about replacement rings. In the assembly process I noticed the markings for the inner ring are on the non-drive side. Was this always the case with Campy?
