Avoid crank forward flat foot technology. Every poster with one of those bikes posts later about having a hard time figuring out bar and seat position.
Other than that figure out your fit. What kind of brakes you want. What kind of gears you want. If you want a step through frame. Etc.

I am getting a beach cruiser to ride during lunch hour at work. The bike rack is in our parking garage, so I can just keep it locked up there. When the days get short, lunch time is the only chance I have to ride during the work week.
