Too many according to my wife who likes to count my possessions (cars/bikes/skis). Have sold off a couple of non-catalytic cars (going more green) but only one bike, the rest I am holding onto.

Mercier Nano minivelo
Tern Rally
Dedacciai Gladiatore 2
Breezer Doppler Cafe+
T-Lab X3
Kinesis Racelight 4S
Breezer Venturi (35th Anniversary)
Motobecane Grand Jubilée
Of my 10, the above 8 are the only which see regular use. I don’t trail ride for now, so the DeKerf sits, awaiting an overhaul and reimagining, and I don’t travel for work much anymore, so the Dahon only gets used when I have friends over.

I've only got three bikes, my road bike which is my main rider, a mountain bike which I use as a gravel bike, and a hybrid which needs new wheels since the bearings went out on the old ones, so it's sidelined until bicycle parts become a little more plentiful again.

Eight. Every one of them has some unique characteristic(s) that make it not redundant in the collection.

Six:
4 from the current century (adult cyclocross bike, kids’ road bike, adult xc mtb, and adult hybrid).
2 from the last two decades of the last century (adult road racing bike, early womens’ mtb hybrid).
Not feeling the need for anything else right now, but one never knows!

After three pages of input, wonder what use OP will make of this. Buy more bikes? Sell some bikes? Can he now determine the correct number of bikes? If OP would search back about 6 months he'd find that another member has already covered most of the How How How, What What What thread topics.

I've actually achieved N+1 (N being the number desired rather than the number owned) and now I'm stuck there. Tried to sell the Simcoe, which is like new, but nobody would answer the ad in NextDoor. They probably didn't like the discount price I wanted and bought WM junk instead. Even as light and comfortable as it is for me, the arthritis in my hands gets too aggravated riding it.
I suppose I really should get out on the others, but we've had monsoons here most of the summer, and when it isn't raining, it's >80 degree temps with >80% humidity, and I ain't doing that.
