Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

minor details. after all it was still going and has only stopped being used because it's too thirsty to run.

Fell going up a wet, pave carriage road. (It rained the night before.) Walked part of a descent that had railroad ballast size stones. The final unpaved stretch was a road but was more like a rocky, dry creek bed with elevated sides. I slept well that night.
In 2006 I did a ride called Breathless Agony. It had 12,000 feet in the first 75 miles, then descended 40 miles to the finish. It was too much and I was affected by the altitude more than usual and I suffered the last 15 miles of the 35 mile climb. I felt a lot better once I descended for a while. I never wanted to repeat that day.

I had these properly floppy babies before I had those babies. Never personally owned ye olde 8" mega babies, but used them a couple of times.

I didn't use a Zip Drive much.

How awesome were the multi-disk programmes?

I used to have Photoshop on 6 floppies. Loading that up was a party. Ver 3 or 4, don't recall exactly.

I guess they wouldn't get as many riders if they called it "A nice, long ride that might leave you a little sore tomorrow".
