I can do either mustard or pickle juice. But I don't cramp until after the ride.

What's a cramp?
Just kidding. I think I had one like, once. Maybe twice.

Got a good workout on the way to work today. A 40kmh headwind gusting to 61kmh. with added cold rain. everyone sensible was in their car driving to work. At least it should be a quicker ride home.

It was one of my longest days on a bike, about 11 hours. When we reached the coast it was almost dinner time and we had 40 miles to go into a stiff headwind. Part way through this ordeal I was following my friend and I realized he was trying to catch guys out on their evening rides while we were on loaded touring bikes. He got us close but couldn't close the deal so I went around to finish the bridge up. I couldn't do that now.

Then what you need is a big sandwich with mustard and pickles after you ride.

Hmmm. Same route as last night. Same temps as last night. Same bike as last night, apart from the wheels/tires (Mrs. Peel, this time with tubs). Same time as last night - only 13 seconds faster over 22 miles.
Okay, so, not the tires. Which leaves the bike, and the motor.
Funny thing is, the last two days I've just felt uncomfortable on this bike. I couldn't get comfy, and I've never had that problem with this bike for all that it's 40 years old. I also don't remember it being so hard-riding, either.
I think I'll take the Litespeed tomorrow, and see how THAT feels.

my kid and a few other kids on his football team were cramping ; August practices and hot early season games could especially be brutal
some blamed the cramping on creatine (?)
one older kid's father was an NFL coach and recommended pickle juice
one kid was consuming chia seeds (?) to prevent cramping ... ? ...

Yes the mustard is to be taken after a cramp starts. It possibly tickles the nervous system in a way that, in some people, relieves a cramp. My friend swears by it.
YMMV
p.s. there is an expensive product called "HotShot" that likely works the same way.
