Addiction 2021.4

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is one of the few days I eat more than I should. It's cool, because much of the stuff is garbage I wouldn't touch any other day.

We dined out. It was good.

Got to Austin in time for lunch, but nothing was open. Found a little place called Tacos More on the south side. Place was full, about 75 people. We were the only gringos. It was goo as well.

I did a respectable job of not making myself feel disgustedly stuffed.

...though I haven't had a piece of that pecan pie, yet.

Smoked would be an improvement. So would a nice turkey sandwich on rye with good mustard, coleslaw, and a few garlic pickles.

Taking the day off to celebrate TG with my son and his family. I know we're a day late but I'm sure y'all will forgive us for that. Cheers!

I did not enjoy either of the Alisha Keyes cuts. I did enjoy her backup band though.
Did you mean "Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis blues again"? It's from Blonde on Blonde. Or did you mean "Subterranean Homesick Blues".

Went to my sister's house (she lives with her daughter) for the feast. Haven't seen them in 2 years. My sister looks like an old woman, maybe because she is. And my niece is 50, how the hell did that happen? I brought home a ton of leftovers so I'm going to have to start eating a lot more to make sure it doesn't go bad. Plus, I just shopped on Wednesday. Maybe I should go for a little ride.

Spent the morning decorating outside.

I have to say, I was pretty happy that the stores in area were not open on Thanksgiving.

I took Rango for a walk yesterday, the sum total of all my exercise. I ate ONE plate of Feast, longed for a second one, but managed to stop myself. But I did eat two pieces of pumpkin pie! The Younger Boy made the stuffing, the Older Boy did the pies and mashed potatoes. Used to be I did EVERYTHING, which is a bit of a chore, even if it's just for 4 people. My Dad used to do it for as many as 32 one year! But then, as a young man he trained to be a chef.
