Help with A Schwinn world sports road bike
I don't know anything about my bike u tried to look it up and nothing so can someone please help me the rear back dropout says g-1078 the center hub says W.T.A 128909c and on the schwinn badge there is 4 numbers which are 2938 please help

This was the bottom of the Schwinn adult line at the time. The frame material is plain steel. I worked in a Schwinn dealership when these came out and being a bike snob at the time, dismissed them. Karma caught up with me later in life when I picked one of these up at a garage sale. It is still low end. But the the bike rides nice even with the steel rims. By the way as far as steel rims go, if I remember correctly they were at least good steel rims. Araya, I believe. Anyway for a budget bike it is a decent bike and Giant also did a nice job with the paint and lug lining.
For mine, I put on upright handlebars and started riding that bike most often. I have lighter and sportier bikes, but this was just as enjoyable to ride. Part of that enjoyment was not worrying about it and knowing that I didn't spend a bunch of money on it. I regreased all the bearings, ran new cables and put on Kenda K35 tires. Then rode it. A bunch. Then sold it. I can't keep them all.
This could be a gateway drug bike into the dark world of vintage bikes. Enjoy it.

took one in, against me better judgment
when performed an alignment check discovered the frame was constructed with seat stays of differing lengths
one of those alignment problems which cannot be addressed by "cold setting"

I remember my World Sport fondly. It was one of my first builds and I put a lot of miles on it as it was very comfortable and I kinda wish I had left it together but needed a lot of the components for other projects.
I can say this, if mine had a built in rear derailleur hanger instead of needing a claw hanger I most likely would not have moved on very quickly. I always have my eye out for a 58cm World Sport with built in hanger.

I had an 84. CrMo frame with HiTen stays and fork, Suntour components and aluminum rims. That was a pretty decent bike.

I have an 84 as well that I commuted on for many years. Not a head-turner, but rides nicely. I keep thinking of getting rid of it and then find some reason to keep it.
