Addiction 2022.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

what is your favorite? Steely Dan, Styx, Rush, Pink Floyd, or perhaps REM or The Clash?

I went through a Dead phase. Probably saw about a dozen shows, including the ‘86 show at RFK in DC with Dylan and Petty. Later that summer The Allman Brothers Band played a full, two-set show for free outside of Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. WMMR sponsored it. Great performance.

The fact that the airlines announce a 1 min delay as a delay……. I bet the plane still made it to RDU on time.

Nope. Someone posted it on Twitter. Someone's a real stickler about flights being on-time.

Looks like it ended up being more than a 1 min delay.

Its the main metric airlines use to judge performance. Doesn’t matter if the plane arrives 2 hours early. If it leaves 1 min late it’s still “Delayed”.

I found a left-over 2021 Emonda SL7 in my size at the local Trek shop. Has 11 speed Di2, but that’s okay for 25% off. The response when I got home was a very simple but resolute, “No.”

Did you buy her something first? Mine will yes, but after I buy her something I won’t have anything left for the bike.

So my buddy at the regional just got news of a massive raise. Kind of ridiculous really, but good for them. Anyways, I am trying to convince him to sponser me for cycle cross. Risk is high, rewards minimal but worth it. After he buys my bike, he has free reign on what socks I wear.

She doesn’t want anything - not a car, not a trip, not clothes, nothing.

Good luck with the sponsor. Play up the benefit to him.
