Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1 week in the Pyrenees

Hello, this summer I will be in vacations in the pyrenees for 1 week to do some climbing.

Can anyone recommand me a good aera to stay at so I can do a lot of hard climbs without spending too much time driving please ?

I already did a week staying at Bagnères de bigorre to do stuff like Aspin, Tourmalet, Hourquette d'Ancizan, and also already went a bit more west to do Aubisque & Hautacam. So I would like to go more to the east this time.

Thank you in advance

Yes after some researches I think bagnères de luchon is clearly the way to go. A lot of climbs that I haven't done nearby.

So for anyone interested, bagnères de bigore and bagnères de luchon have 2 very nice spots to have a lot of cool climbs to do without driving too much

Finally got it:* Le Corneille at 5 Avenue Alexandre Dumas, Bagneles-de-Luchon, Occittaine.

*Sorry, It says "permanently closed". We were there back in 2009.
