These are surely the same people that think queuing for literally hours at a time just to buy a tiny little amount of legal weed is a great way to spend their time

That's not a bad price for that frame. My custom ti frame from a small (but award winning) local builder was in the $3,000 range back in 2016. Cerakote finish was a couple hundred bucks extra. And it took about 7 months to get. That was due in part to some additional finish work that needed to be done after the first go around.

Total burn on the day was ~5900. The ride was ~63 miles and accounted for ~3000cal. I also took two walks to the grocery store, which is about a 1.5 round trip each time. My base daily rate, being lazy AF, is around 2700 or so.

On PMs, if one is not pedaling, the PM shows no work, thus no calories. That can’t be right in my mind. If you get your HR way up, wouldn’t there be a pretty high rate of burn even when coasting. I realize that there is no work happening but still...

One of the challenges for me is getting out with the kids and getting them some exercise. They love to go for walks or take out bikes/scooters, but then I have the "where the hell should we go?" conundrum. We have a number of parks within striking distance, and we'd normally go to one, play, maybe have little picnic or, if I was feeling lazy/unprepared, we'd go someplace to pick up lunch or a snack. Popping in to shops and book stores were also regular stops. We moved to our neighborhood because it was target-rich for walking and riding. Now we have no destinations.
I suppose that we could start picnicing when the weather is a little nicer, but that's not going to cut it in 45° and overcast.

I average between 25 and 40 cal/mi depending upon which bike I’m riding and what I’m wearing. My daily requirement is about 2600 at my fat butt weight.
On PMs, if one is not pedaling, the PM shows no work, thus no calories. That can’t be right in my mind. If you get your HR way up, wouldn’t there be a pretty high rate of burn even when coasting. I realize that there is no work happening but still...

I don't think that I've ever had a calorie data field on my GPS. I don't know if I have one available.

No ****. No pads or helmet either.
May as well all drink from the same water bottle, and post-game meal, a bowl of chili with 8 spoons.

In this vein, something I want to get off my chest before the day ends: I'd really like to sail the high seas. Something about sitting there with only a couple inches of plastic between you and several hundred feet of turbulent, shark-infested salt water seems really relaxing.

No, not at all. They run the same. Only difference is max power which is generally much higher on my single uprights because I’m a fast twitcher and my max power is usually accelerating away from a stop sign standing up.
Yep, my trike has a PM and eTap. Not your granddad’s trike.

Can’t remember the comedian, but it’s not a shark attack if you are swimming in the ocean. You are trespassing.
