Because sometimes participation is more important than the actual content.

Most of my boxes still have bike parts in them. Here's one that gave up its contents for my '62 Paramount though......

I'd like to post a box I wasn't able to get - some years ago I went to a LBS to see some vintage steel frames and noticed a NOS C-Record seatpost on its box in a shelf. Asked about it, the price was OK, bought it. The owner took the seatpost from the shelf and gave it to me.
Me: I'll take the box too.
Owner: The price was for the seatpost, the box is not included.
Me: OK, how much for the box?
Owner: the box IS NOT for sale!!

The Tube Repair Kit isn't really empty but what's in it isn't usable so it may as well be empty.

Box from my Dia Comp Royal Gran Comp 400 that I bought as NOS to replace the terrible Speedy Modolo brakes on my Bianchi (The speedys were definitely speedy, not so stoppy, however).

More punctures than I care to discuss.

Not all of them are empty. But, none have the original contents. They're great for holding small parts/objects.

It's a box, and it may be empty.
