Did you lose a package?
Been reading the news lately about modern day train robberies of thousands of packages while en route through Los Angeles. Anyone lose one?

Only twice in the last 12 years have I not received a package. And I've ordered tons of stuff from online merchants, mostly via eBay. One missing package was supposedly from a forum member that I don't trust. The other was from my uncle, but he's kind of forgetful, so who knows if he even sent it.

There are also reports of packages unopened being found in vacant lots or sides of yards. A friend found a bunch of them at the end of her driveway on the other side of the wall. She looked on her video and the driver blatantly dumps then there. We thought that either he was going to come pick them up later and take them or he wanted to end his day and go home. If the latter is the case, perhaps the company is over working the employees because I know they are forced to finish their deliveries before they can go home.

Nope. So far my wife and I have had computers, wide screen TV, bicycles, and hundreds of other packages left at the door over the years without incident.

The neighbors moved a truck across the road at the entrance to the cul-de-sac, and then stood by. The mail thief drove up on a lawn to get around the truck, hit one of the neighbors, and made his escape from the area. The license plate was reported to LEOs. The neighbor that was struck was fine, just got a bruise on his thigh. But all that is an indication of how brazen some of these thieves can be.
We have never had any packages go missing... But these days, I watch those delivery dates/times closely.

...at one point, right around and after Xmas, it seemed like about a third of the threads on Next Door here were about porch pirates, and most of them had doorbell camera videos included. Judging from the comments, and the sheer number of them, it seemed to me that people feel their Amazon stuff is important.
I've been lucky thus far, probably because we are both retired and home a lot with the pandemic spiking sporadically.
