I’ve seen them on bikes and on Segways during large events that have been held in areas with closed streets here in Philly.

This organization is for all public safety cyclists, including EMS. EMS on bikes started in the late 80s/early 90s in our area.

Yup; that's the same place I'd expect to see them most often-- same places you'll find cops on bikes. The sort of thing where people are more likely to need a bandaid or a "no, that's probably just sprained" than an AED or airway established. It makes sense to me.

It is pretty common at bigger events where cars and huge ambulances would be a hinderance or not able to get through. EMS on bikes makes a ton of sense because most issues don't always need the full ambulance. Shoot when I got sucker punched and knocked to the ground by some random guy I had never met at a restaurant I was fine they came and interviewed me but a guy on a bike could have sat me outside and done the same thing and I wouldn't have complained heck we could have chatted about bikes as well : )
Because people will want to know I didn't recognize the person who hit me and he was never caught go figure. I did get a free meal out of it and I don't think I got any bruises I can recall.
