Yes. I'm running Chrome, also on very high speed internet, the gifs often take a long time to load. Many of them might be referenced elsewhere with [IMG] tags, so the speed at which they are served depends on who knows what servers. Or it could be BF is not most highly optimized to serve .gifs.

Total publicity stunt.
Don't know if you remember the guy who won a chance to kick a field goal at half time of the NFL Pro Bowl. It was many years ago. Forget what the prize was. Maybe $1 million. Whatever it was, it was a lot of money. Well...The contestant was not poor to begin with. Think he worked in the financial sector in NYC. He hired a former college kicker or someone like that to coach him. Dude nailed the filed goal. The minute it came off his foot you could tell it was going to be good. He was celebrating before it went through the uprights. It was really cool because a lot of the players mugged him in congratulations.

IIRC, road signs are designed to be frangible, i.e. break easily, to minimize damage to the occupants of the car hitting the sign. Not sure how that translates to signs suspended well above traffic.

Yeah, I don't think that's applicable. There are guardrails as a rule to protect cars and trusses

signs on the roadside, yes... those need to be break-away. But supports for the trusses that cross the entire highway, we are required to place guardrail around them.
