it was a bit humbling that the local 1/2 team fielded a full squad at the tour to fred to try and beat me. and beat me they did. I didn't have the heart to tell them I was far less than 100% with banged up ribs, and merely enjoyed that they worked hard to do it.

I'm the same way. In my case, it's one of the few benefits of being old and feeble and having an FTP of 253. I did a 2:33 ride this morning that was mostly in Z2 but also included 3x(5x1') Z6 intervals. TSS was 176, IF was .83 and I produced 1658 kj. I did it on a bowl of Cherrios and two and a half bottles of water. My Z6 is probably @misterwaterfalls' Z3.

I actually just checked and I am above 0 for the first time since August 17th. Been hovering at -20-35, with a few dips upward to the teens twice for a rest day now and then.

You should have said something, we probably still had enough in the budget to send domestiques.

I ride mostly fasted (i.e. usually stop eating before ~5pm the day before) and regularly do 1.5-2.5 hour rides/workouts before coming home and eating breakfast. I just can't push myself hard if I feel bloated. Before a long ride I'll eat a normal breakfast first and then maybe be able to do 4-5 hrs without food pretty easily, though I usually start eating a little before that when I go longer because there's a very short window before you start bonking really really hard.

I guess like 4-4.5hrs with 4x20 tempo. Waiting for it to warm up because it's still in the 30's and **** that.

220 tss on 3 hours of endurance/tempo with about 30 minutes of threshold intervals mixed in. Tried a kilo type attack at the end of the group ride, got away from everyone except one of the stronger guys on our team who just sat on my wheel and rode away from me as I started to crumble about 100 meters from the sprint point.

I rode for an hour with the junior this afternoon. He always attacks me on the last corner before the house.

5 hours yesterday with ~1 hour of motivated climbing. 3.5 hours today feeling not as great, kind of expected. Focused on descending both days with promising results, I think actually trying to hit the right lines and minimize braking etc makes a big difference, go figure. Easy tomorrow.

Two and a half hours today, relaxed pace group ride. Descending Page Mill Road, a deer comes bounding up from the right and hits me mid leap across the road. Knocks me off my bike, a bit of road rash and the deer hit me right in the helmet so I need a new one. But it's a cool story!

Need to get some Z2 done today. Powers are fading with all the racing and no training, but I've got a mini-block coming up to prep for the last bit of my cross season. Then I can take a break and after that REALLY do some training.
