New Zinn Maintenance Book

Just wanted to let everyone know the new 6th edition of "Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance" had been published. It is only about $18 on Amazon.

if you already own the older ones, may not be worth to buy. but I only own the Park blue book, I went ahead and ordered this. I typically ordered the older ones from the library, but it is a bit annoying to have to wait if i just have to look something up. i think the Park book and zinn complement each other well.

What I like about Zinn is he covers modern stuff and the books are pretty up to date. Should be mandatory reading for every noob, even if you don't repair yourself it teaches you about bikes. Our libraries here have 4th and 5th edition (free of course), and at $18 it should be obtainable to anyone interested in bikes.

There also is a road bike equivalent book by Zinn.

I have a couple of the older editions and find them useful and well written. Sometimes it's more convenient to flip open a familiar book than to search for info online.

And before someone publishes a book, there is at least some standard of quality control and peer review.
online you know 95% of the information is correct, but you don't know which youtube video is the 5% wrong (and maybe 95% is optimistic)

Just like reading an article, the credentials of the person producing the video are just as, if not more important, than the topic.

This seems to be a lost skill in research, now.

Unfortunately, no longer true. Used to be this way until some 15 years ago...
