GX 2x RD Compatibility with Apex 1

I have an Sram Apex1 1x11 groupset on a Trek Checkpoint frame. Will a GX 2x11 rear derailleur index correctly with the Apex1 double tap shifter? For an indexing test with a GX 2x10 rd from my stash installed with the Apex 1 I’m having trouble getting the shifting indexed properly. I thought GX 2x10, Gx 2x11 and Apex 1 all with Exact Actuation would be compatible.

Thanks.

Is the Apex shifter indexing compatible with any RD besides the Apex 1x11 clutched derailleur that came with the groupset? I guess I’m misunderstanding what Exact Acuation is. I need lower gears than the Apex gear combination gives. As an experiment I installed a 46/30 front chainring and I’m trying to use the Apex to shift a 2x compatible RD. I hate to invest in a whole new groupset to get lower gears.

In the meantime my 80s touring bike with a triple and 37mm MTB Riddler tires works as my all-road/gravel bike.

The GX 2x11 is X-actuation and won't work with the Exact Actuation Apex 1 shifters. The GX 2x10 rear derailleur is Exact Actuation and will work fine with the Apex 1 shifter, but it only has a max cog size of 36t.
