French Saddlebags

I am aware of some British marques, but are/were there any famous saddlebag manufacturers in France?

As in, smaller bags mounted under the saddle?

I'm guessing Lionel was the "Brans" referenced here:

TA Handlebar Bag
https://velo-orange.blogspot.com/200...lebar-bag.html

Buddy of mine in high school used one of these in the early 70's.
He and Clifford Graves were the only ones with (proper) front bags that I remember in San Diego back then.

How big of a saddle bag do you want?

I have a saddlebag bag, rando bag, and panniers all by Berthoud they're all great quality but I like the saddle bag the least.

Thanks, people. I found some great, new and used examples of Berthoud and Lafuma that would work for me. I haven't checked out Sologne or TA Specialties yet. The reason I am on this search is because at high-speed, on a bump, I lost a spoke wrench and a reversible screw-driver last week using this bag. A few days ago, I glued velcro into the middle of it, but the velcro wasn't particularly strong. i should say that if I am going to use a bag, the contents need to be secure. I'd like a full litre of space, anyway, and this pouch really doesn't have it:

wrap a shop towel or section of one in there, 50% of the time it can be a rear wheel, means chain, towel gives a fighting chance against grease.

TA bag really needed the rack that fit onto a Mafac brake. They were not cheap, but not crazy expensive. Almost bought the bag and the rack but desired to go racing, racers did not use handlebar bags.

Okay, this I understand, but what were you saying about my wheel and chain?

they are no doubt lubricated and will soil your fingers, a rag or small section of shop towel goes a long way to not get other parts of you or your bike dirty.

Yep, not sure how grimy they were, but the rag is a decent idea...

You are absolutely correct: racers did not use handlebar bags.
I never used one back then, but mostly it was too much money (for a high schooler) for an experiment.
