My Hot Shot Pro150 is on its third year. My Hot Shot 100 is on its second year. They've both been reliable so far.
I like them, and if I needed another, I would buy the same brand.

I have a Surfas (sp) I bought in 2008 for $160 at a shop. So a relatively early modern light. I've done nothing but use it and charge it and I cannot tell any difference from new. It now takes a backseat to a NightRider that cost about half as much and is far brighter. Times have changed. But it is the most reliable light I"be ever owned. And Surfas isn't even a light company, just a name.
Oh, I did replace the mount. Rotating between 5 bikes and always coming off to charge took its toll.

Might be easier to go through Amazon if possible...But if not, this thread suggests that Cygolite will take care of it. That's a bit of a hassle, and shouldn't happen on a two-month old light. Perhaps they would ship you a new one without returning the old one? At least you could avoid a trip to the Post Office.

I think I chimed in earlier, and would like to update my opinions. As to length of run time, my 360 metro does around 3-4 hours before needing charging. I run during daylight; half of the time in flashing mode and half in steady with stutter pulses. I have never exhausted the hotshot and recharge at the same time as the metro. Both are around 5 yrs old and doing fine.
Battery size has some input. I traded units with my wife for a month and hers is a Streak 300. Seems I had to recharge more often, after around 2 hours of run time.
They are both bright units that I would buy again. If needing an all night option, I would buy a spare,.

I have a Cygolite Hotshot that is approximately 5 years old and still works. It doesn't hold a charge longer than a 1 hour bike ride though...

Year 10 or 11 for my Cygolite Rover II LED headlight. Rated 265 lumens. 4.8 volt ( 4 x 4/3A cells ) NiMH. Fresh charge run time on high is still about 2 hrs. Good enough for my needs. I mainly use it about 6 months of the year, for my short morning commute. I built a spare battery pack out of NiMH AA cells, but I only charged & brought it a few times on evening trips.

Wow, talk about quick turnaround time. The replacement light was just delivered. Must have been dispatched from the fulfillment center located about an hour or so from my hometown. I'll reserve judgement after it's charged and thoroughly tested.
