Addiction 2021.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Roubaix did fine on today’s ride. I had to stop several times to answer pages, and out in Lancaster County I had a difficult time with “no signal” on my phone. It was a gorgeous fall-like day.

Went for a ride with the spouse today. While we were stopped for lunch, I tried to start a conversation about how electronic shifting would be nice for her.

That trial balloon was deflated before it ever got inflated.

That's not how I remember it from my 14-year-old, clandestine Skinemax viewings.

That is painful. Feel for him.

What's this about you cruising along at 35 mph? All this talk about old and slow. Can't BS this BS'er.

Electronic shifting wouldn't move the needle for my wife, either... but she's certainly interested in the idea of riding with the assistance of a motor.
