Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know you guys are all on tenterhooks regarding the weather for my big ride tomorrow, so let me set your minds at ease: temps should range from 50ish to 80ish, 0% chance precip, light winds am picking up to 10ish mph by afternoon. High humidity at the start (96%) when its cool but declining to 40% by afternoon as it warms up.

To summarize: that's some lucky weather.

How do you like your allez? I was between a smartweld and the TCR that I got. I chose the TCR because it was marginally cheaper, and Specialized was out of the matte black ones in my size. I couldn't do the colorful one.

I love it. Comfortable enough for all day rides. Tracks great through corners. Stable on descents.

Keep in mind, that I don't have experience with other modern framesets. For instance, it seems like a it has a pretty stiff BB to me but my basis for comparison is a 30-year-old Schwinn.

Nice. I bought mine exclusively as a race bike. It hasn't been ridden off a race course except for the first day. I like to know it's going to be good to go and not suffer any non-race related mechanicals. Tarmac gets those.

The TCR and Allez had almost identical reviews, I hadn't ridden either before making my decision though. Honestly, I can't tell much of a difference between my S-Works and the TCR.

I'm just not into this neon trend with bicycles.

In fact, the TCR is the first bike I bought that isn't primarily white.

Trouble with weight loss and illness is the muscle mass loss. That sucks and getting it back on takes a lot longer than loosing it.

I love dodging cars. It's a pastime or something. That aside, it has everything. My rides regularly spanned DC VA and MD, which was cool. Rolling hills through neighborhoods, that's something we don't have out here. Plus I mean, riding at night in a city on a brakeless fixed gear is just such a free-feeling activity.
