Clark Kent ti

I just picked up this Clark Kent ti bike from the 1990s (?). Anyone know where I can find more info on the frame? It has a stamp on the rear dropout. "I 1381" which I assume means it was welded by Ivo Vinklarek, production 1,381...

An N+1 work in progress. I swapped out the stem, seat, and now pedals

Stamp on rear dropout
but I'd like to be sure as well as the year it was built.

The sticker say it was welded by Ivo but the chainstay stamp may confirm it.

Very understated frame, just like Clark Kent, very nice. Nice build and lovely welds. I like it!

Yes very nice frame. I had not heard of that brand before but see it has its own wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark-Kent What do the decals on the top tube and the fork say?

You got one of the good ones! Ivo Vinklarek & Don Herr were the first two framebuilders for CK, and they did an amazing job.

Later CK's were outsourced to lesser framebuilders and QC took a huge hit - mostly contaminated welds. This was the company's downfall, along with one of the owners absconding with all the cash. Quite a story.
