Rare Carrera Podium racing bike 56cm

(100% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to The American Cancer Society on behalf of the friend to whom this bike belonged.) There’s not too much hard information available on the Italian Carrera bikes built in the 1990s… only legends, it seems. I believe this one is a 1994/95 Podium based on the graphics, componentry, (Chorus 8-speed) and other info gathered from owners on the bike forums. It’s built with really nice custom Columbus tubing, has full Campy Chorus group components, and custom-built wheels. The original wheels were built with Campy hubs and Mavic tubular rims. I replaced the tubular rims; re-lacing the hubs to NOS Wolber double-walled, eyeletted (clincher) rims.

Condition is very good. No rust; there are a few minor nicks, chips and spots where the paint has slightly worn…. not atypical wear for a 27-year old bike. It looks stunning, and the ride is joyous. Take a look at the photos; full specs below. Asking $1100; will consider delivering up to 100 miles from Lambertville NJ/New Hope PA. This is indeed a special bike. The late great Marco Pantani rode a Carrera very similar to this.

Bikes: Several, to many to list, mainly vintage British build. From A-Z of brands there are two letters missing, X&Y.
