I typically do intervals 30 seconds, but plan on switching that up soon. I have been listening to a lot of Sebestian Weber and Jan Olbrecht on proper ways to train. They go pretty deep into the cellular level stuff, but I do like what they say about base training and intensity levels.

I have been riding a Praxis Alba 175mm, just switched in a set of FSA Gossamer 165mm. Also raised the saddle height on all my bikes quite a bit, even so I still have a 15-20mm of heel drop.
The changes definitely seem to help, there's still some mild discomfort but not anything like before.

on the surface it appears your seat height was much too low and possibly source of issues you might have been experiencing - but that's just a guess

A question for the group. Huh? Centered again. A mystery. After my longish ride yesterday, my legs are not sore, or tired this morning, as they normally would be. Can I thank the compression shorts for that? I have always been of the belief that their use was for aerodynamic purposes.

Trying to do a load of wash. It's a digital machine, running through a UPS. The power flashes and then goes out completely every five minutes, like clockwork. I finally set it on express--20 minutes. Not looking good even for that. The power goes out for a second or two, just enough to have to start over. The thrills of living in an undeveloped country.

I just did a 12 miler. Out and back to a brewery on a nice rail trail we have around the corner from where we live. It was my wife’s idea but I didn’t think the rail trail came close to the brewery. It’s literally across the street from one of the stops on the trail.
So I confirmed that my wife rocks and that I’m pretty much blind.

We had a good ride. Roads were wet to start but gradually dried out. It was very windy, but with temps in the mid 60’s, I was not complaining. This was likely the last ride of the year in shorts and short sleeve jersey. Temps expected to drop 20 degrees overnight and stay chilly for the foreseeable future.

Squeezed out for a short ride - only my second in the last 30 days or so. 
Seems my ticker is revving higher, now - maintaining 160+ bpm always meant putting in some work, but I found myself there at ho-hum efforts today. Even got up to 172bpm, which is exceptionally rare when I'm healthy.
Unfortunately, my power did *not* rise with my HR... quite the opposite.

Club group was doing an 80ish mile route. I didn't want to drive to the ride start so I rode from home and met them along the way. I was the slowest but there were 2 who weren't much faster. Chilly and breezy all day. Around the 50 mile mark I had an opportunity to skip a section but that meant riding alone for 20 miles of headwind.
I went for it and I am fried.

I made chili tonight . You saw my dessert.
I always liked the 60's Chevy muscle cars. '69 Z28 was nice. Corvettes weren't doing anything for me but liked the early - mid 60's Stingray. The new ones are also nice. PCAD had one. Everything in between were meh.

... It rained here last night, with highs in the 50's. It was a good day to do my survey of the local economy's post pandemic recovery. Of the four Ramen places along R street, that I used to rotate for a warming meal on a coolish day, one remains. One has turned into a Mexican restaurant. One is no longer open for lunch, choosing instead to concentrate on the dinner crowd from 3-9:30. One is still vacant space. But one was open and serving what used to be an $8 bowl of spicy pork ramen (which is now priced at $14). The Vietnamese place, farther along, was happily still there, with people on the patio at tables. So I can still get a bowl of pho.
I'm thinking about formalizing this as another "leading economic indicator," the ramen recovery index. I rode on this swell Woodrup, because I could.
The Home Depot is busy setting up their Christmas tree lot, even though the woman down the street still has her giant inflatable turkey on the lawn.
