Anyone heard of V Industries?

Hey All,
I'm looking for an entry level 29 hard tail under 1K. Considering the usual Giant Talon, Spec Rockhopper, Cannondale Trail, Scott Aspect, etc. I'm not looking to do anything hardcore, just casual riding on local trails that are a little too rough for my old Quick 4.
A local bike shop has this V Industries 975. Made in Mexico, seems to have decent components. I never heard of them, anyone here have experience with this brand?

Thanks, Don

Never heard of them. The components are not great aside from maybe the Advent 10 which is OK. Everything else is super cheap non-name stuff that I wouldn't want on a bike. 1K is a around a good price for an entry level hardtail I am not really riding much and the key thing to look at is the front fork which would use air vs coil. I would also want hydraulic brakes from Shimano, Magura, Tektro/TRP, SRAM, Hope or Hayes or a similar company but I wouldn't want cheap clarks or worse brakes or mechanical brakes on a mountain bike at least not on anything modern.
