This one tugs at my heartstrings. Too many of these bikes from the fifties and sixties have gone to the dump, which is probably the fate of this one if no one claims it.

Steiner's law of used stuff: if there is no price, the price is too high.
This guy is a waste of time and air.

>> entertaining reasonable (not rediculas) offers.
Pet peeve #2: using big words without a spell checker.
And if you already know what "reasonable" is, make it your asking price.

>> if youd like to talk please reply and include your number"
Pet peeve #3: You sell stuff, YOU take the whenever calls.
Inviting emails is OK but "I'll call you when I feel like it" is not acceptable.

A lot of these catalogs appear to be multiple identical copies -- not surprising from a store's inventory.

These would be fun but I doubt they have significant value.

cheers -mathias

It looks clean. But it's a big frame with a long stem, which limits the market and the price.

I might have a hard time selling that bike at $300 even if it were fully overhauled, which this bike probably isn't. I'm at $250 here.

But if you need a bike, don't squabble over 50 bucks. That's like half a week's worth of groceries.

I think closer to $175, many replaced parts, some are upgrade, replaced wheels, derailleurs, shifters, and the big downgrade is the saddle.

Waterford - $500 - Santa Barbara, CA
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...565730826.html
"Serial #J10003 (3rd frame built in Sept 2010). Was custom ordered through Stone's Cyclery in Alameda but frame was not sold. Shop sent it back to Waterford to be repainted in it's current color, English Light Blue. I bought the frame off of Stone's rack in early 2013. Shop did an outstanding build up on the frame at time of purchase. Between 2013 and 2015 I completed 3 1200k brevets -including Paris-Brest-Paris - and all qualifying events with this bike. Since then it has seen much lighter duty on the roads of Santa Barbara County.
Build is original mid level Shimano drivetrain and brifters. Tektro brakes. Open Pro 36 spoke wheelset. It rides well but is due for some newer components. The frame is sound and rust free, the paint is good. I'm 6'3" and the frame fits me like a glove. The bike is light, fast, and nimble but very stable.
I am retired from serious road cycling and looking to give my old friend a new home.
Dimension and build details from Waterford are included in pics."

TA Crankset - with "other parts". Think of the price of Gatorskins!

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/bik/7565784769.html

Vintage tandem project - $150 (napa county)

This is a very cool old fully lugged steel tandem that just needs a little bit of love. I picked it up as a project, but I’ve got way too many projects going on that I’ve accepted that I’m not going to get to this. Has plenty of signs of love and use over the years, but is structurally great and could make for a very very cool bike once it’s got a little love put into it.

- steel, lugged, beautiful frame
- TA cranks!
- sealed hubs

Will need: new cables, new rear derIailleur.

It ain’t the prettiest bike as it sits, but it’s only $150 for vintage steel with most of the parts you’ll need! Come grab it from me

Email or text and I’ll get back to you asap

Yeah - I agree now that I'm doing some more research. I also don't need (nor do I have the room) for another old beat up Raleigh!!

Also, just since it should be known, this is being sold by the biggest bike flipper in NYC, possibly in the whole country ...? He--I seem to remember he's a man--regularly has around a hundred bikes on Craigslist--ads which he renews like clockwork, which is infuriating to some, and his prices are always high. Still, I agree that if it's a bike you really want, in your size, then even a couple of hundred dollars shouldn't make a difference.

If someone does go see this Raleigh because of this thread, though, please report back on this flippers operation. Where does he store all those bicycles? Where does he get them? Is it just a hobby for him? Does he work alone? I've been curious about this guy for years!
