I don't mind the trainer too much. I get to binge watch a bunch of old shows. The real problem is that I ride a lot slower on a trainer because I am trying to read the computer or ipad, so I spend so much more time in the saddle getting the miles.

That’s funny. Riding on Zwift is just the opposite for me. Because there are no corners to coast around and no hills to occasionally coast down whilst I survey my kingdom…the rides are more intense than my road rides. That’s fine, I just keep the rides shorter and it all works out.

I fell a bit short in October (225 miles vs 250 miles). Too much work travel. Already behind this month after a 3-day work trip turned into the entire week.

I don't have a trainer, and I really have no interest in riding indoors. Last winter I managed to ride, although some months the mileage was pretty low. I'll try for 250 miles again this month, but we'll see if I can pull it off. Last November I managed 207 miles.

11/5: 17.3
11/6: 17.3

MTD: 34.6
YTD: 2255.3

If only the rest of the month could be as warm as these last two rides. Wore summer gear, it was about 70F even going out after dark. Maybe one more night of that.

11/5 - 29.8

MTD: 29.8 mi.

Monthly Goal: 250 mi.

Went to roll over my registration for the Bike The Coast Century to next year and discovered I'd somehow registered for it twice, once for 100 miles and once for 25. I could only roll over one of the registrations, so I rode the 25 miler, which was actually closer to 29 and change. Glad I did that because I'm still getting over a cold and hadn't ridden for a couple weeks, that little ride kicked my butt. The century would have killed me (either that or I'd still be out on the course), so I'm glad things worked out the. way they did. Going to try riding tomorrow and see how far I get.

11/7 - 17.6

MTD: 47.4 mi.

Monthly Goal: 250 mi.

Cut the ride short when it started to drizzle in an effort to minimize how wet I got. And it started raining appreciably harder shortly after I got home. It's not often I make a wise decision on a Monday morning.

Went to the doctor this morning (I rode there, of course, since parking costs more than my co-pay) and he encouraged me to do as much riding as I can. Wonder if my wife will mind if I bail on yardwork to go riding and say "Sorry, doctor's orders!"

More work travel, so I'm way behind for the month. Rode around noon today to get out and beat the moisture from Nicole. Raining now.

BTW, speaking of indoor trainers, I see that REI has 20% off Wahoo, Garmin, and Saris trainers from Nov 11 - Nov 21. I may check these out.
