why can't there be a Sports and Entertainment forum initiated prior to any P&R reopening....... S&E would evoke more fandom, general interest, and better natured discourse than the anti _____________ echo chamber dominated by a clique of "me too hate you" posters. P&R always devolves into false equivalencies because it mimics the national P & R divide with a few intransigent posters attacking anything that certain people post. Not saying the attackers are infractors but saying that they are only doing what is expected when talking todays politiKs because that is where we are. At the same time all this would allow allow Foo to Foo for those that use Foo to answer their FOOish questions

Saw the title and instantly thought, "well, they haven't been working for at least the last sixty years (all) of my life!"

US National Politics over the last 6 years or so, plus COVID left the P&R subforum a bit ragged.
I can't predict whether it will come back. I'm not sure anything can be done to keep the threads from flying off topic into personal squabbles other than banning half the members, or at least tossing them out of P&R.
There was a recent topic posted in Foo about Bike Helmets that got deleted. The thread probably should have been written as apolitical and posted under Advocacy and Safety.

That was me who started this thread....I didn't know the PR was dead so put it in FOO. It got deleted. My bad, but I am ashamed that the forum that had a PR thread and thought it wouldn't go off the rails. Not bad mouthing the forum but its ridicules. They should either bring it back and just let it ride or delete ANYTHING that is not bike related on here. Not my Zoo so not my monkeys. I really like on here but this seems wrong.

Often the admins post a notice when they make a change like locking a topic or closing a subforum.
But, this time there was no final closure notice. Some hints that they were dissatisfied, then suddenly it just stopped working.
But, it was also obvious that it was heading that way.

Not sure I buy there was no notice when the subforum had already been shut down once and then (reluctantly?) brought back.
Like you say, it was obvious it was heading that way.
