Vacation near Buffalo
I'm going up to Buffalo to visit family during my vacation. I'll be there Monday through Wednesday next week. I plan on taking my bike and hope to get a ride in Tuesday morning. I'll be staying with family off Reserve Road in West Seneca. I have this route planned out which goes from my mom's house up to the neighborhood I grew up in (Cheektowaga), following mostly streets I know from my youth.
I just thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone would recommend any changes in the route either to improve the scenery or take in sights that lie near the route. Also...anything to beware of along that route? I'm comfortable with urban/suburban cycling which is what a lot of the route is.

Some if that isn't too bad, but Harlem, OP Road, they're going to be very busy, especially when you head out near the airport and the Galleria. What spots in Cheektavegas did you want to hit? Had you thought about going out to the southtowns a little more? I grew up in Elma and I get back there quite a bit, so I know some of the areas around there pretty well, but not all. Hope you have fun.

OP Road in my experience is not that busy. Harlem... yeah, but not as much traffic as, say Union Road once you get up to Cheektowaga. Do you live in Troy, NY? That's the next stop on vacation although I've got others to ride with there, so I'm not so worried about routes there.

Well if you know those roads, I don't see any real problem with your route then. Everything else seems like a decent ride.
I do live in Troy, what days will you be here?

I will be getting in on Thursday I believe. Probably leaving on Monday or Tuesday. I went to RPI. My in-laws live east out Route 2. My sis-in-law that I'll be riding with lives on the west end of Albany (Guilderland). I may do the ride between the two at some point while we're there.

Cheektowaga and RPI? I'm from Elma and went to SUNY Albany. Maybe I'll end end up in Dallas some day! Have a great vacation, and if you are a fan of good beer, check this out:

I may be riding right down Spring Ave. when I ride between Brunswick and Guilderland. If you see this, wave.

Do I like beer? I was one of the original World Tourers at Holmes & Watson... I worked there during college.
