Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I haven't cycle in a minute...

so I just recently got a new road bike.. used but new to me. and im embarrassed for how much I bought it for. I bought it out of impulse. the first 10mins of riding it I'm already regretting it.. anywho it's a faggin compion del mondo.. I can't even find a downloadable pdf catalog, so I don't know whats stock and what got replaced. both derailers are campy tho, crank arm is aerox? not sure if the chainring is stock. the brakes and brake levers are generic, the shifters are suntour. not sure what kind of rims but they look generic as ****! the goose neck are cinelli, same with the handlebars..

anyways.. Im guna try get my money back

Good luck with the sale. Cycling doesn't suit everyone.

Many older bikes like that were built up from a bare frame so it is very possible that the original owner just used what they had or bought various parts with an eye towards keeping to a budget. Back in the 1970's when I started cycling many bike shops selling high end bikes would have had a bunch of bare frames hanging from the ceiling and the buyer would select the one that fit them the best and the shop would help select suitable components for the build. Odds are that the bike you bought was built that way and there wasn't a "stock" build

Good luck on getting your money back. But next time, don't spend a lot of money until you have the experience to know why you are paying that much for something.

OMG "faggin" is a real brand rather than a placeholder for a swear word or slur! Google FTW.

Sounds like components may not be original--at least from a past post I found: Any information about a vintage Faggin Campione Del Mondo road bike? - Bike Forums

He can’t post a pic until count hits 10.

He could upload pictures to an album in his user account and direct us to it.

Is this your bike?

Probably not the right gearing for your current level of bike fitness and it looks like it's set up all wrong. As well the crank looks way too long as if someone put it on there to overcome the gearing issues that one would have in anything other than flat terrain.

Not surprised that proved to be unrideable.
