Font derailleur position help [video]

Hello, I'm having some issues adjusting my front derailleur for the small cog at the back and big at the front. Here's a video of what I've done:

Indexed front derailleur? I suspect you need to snug up the cable, so the shifter can place the derailleur further out when it lands in its indexed position.

Step 1: take the silly height sticker off your derailleur.
Step 2: Obviously you need to shorten the cable (referred to as adding tension) to get the derailleur to move more. Why would you relax the cable? Your derailleur isn't moving far enough...it's moved by cable tension, so you reduce the 'tension'? Give it a bath too, the derailleur is filthy.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Just to clarify, I relaxed the cable to reset it.

How hard should I actually be pulling it to get tension?
I've tried a number of times and it's still not enough.

What I'm finding is that I can set it for the 2 positions of small and big cogs, but for big, big and small, small, the increment steps don't move the derailleur at all.

I'll do another video soon.

1: Shift to big cog in back
2: Undo cable, turn barrel adjust nearly all the way in
3: Set low limit on front derailleur
4: Attach cable, give it a good pull
5: Shift to small cog in back
6: Shift (carefully) to big ring and set high limit
7: Check cable tension and confirm trim positions work properly
Front derailleur should move to the high limit and NOT move at all when shifter from small ring to big ring. If it goes up then drops back down you have too much cable tension.

I've gone through the process and this is what happens: youtu.be/EwfENnz3D3U

- > The limiter screw pushes it the other way (which I think it is what it should do).
- > When I add more tension to the cable it ends up not shifting to the big ring at all.

Well... I'll add my 2 cents. I don't believe that is the correct why to attach the cable to a Shimano DR as shown in the last video. I don't think it'll work if you wrap the cable around the pinch bolt.
You also need to grab the cable with pliers and pull it to take out more slack, like straight up. Fingers are not enough.

That is the correct method for this derailleur.

For the OP: Take the red sticker off. Get that stupid thing out of the way. Obviously if you tighten the high limit the derailleur is going to move in. Also...not so obvious I guess...if you loosen it and don't add tension to the cable nothing will happen. You can turn the high limit out all you want but if you don't also add cable tension the derailleur won't move out any further.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, looks like tension is the issue. I've tried with all my might and plyers to get it tighter but it just won't go any tighter. I can get it tight enough to go up to the big ring while in the smallest cog at the back, but it still rubs, so I need more tension. Not sure how to get it tighter.
