Shaun Cassidy

For the TV show version on Breaking Away, they replaced Dennis Christopher with Shaun Cassidy as Dave Stohler.

And they replaced his beautiful Masi with a Huffy!

(which was you could get at your local department stores https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...e-new-box.html)

Unfortunately I watched that whole series... about 7 episodes. I think only one episode was actually about cycling, and all of them were forgettable.
I sort of remember them referring to Dave's "Le Strade" ... maybe I heard it wrong, but I thought "ridiculous - he's riding a bike that doesn't even exist and it's FRENCH?!?!?!"

Even though Huffy sold a "Breaking Away" model, which was blue, and on the box it said "Breaking Away on Network Television", TV Dave Stoller rode a white Huffy "LeGRANDE"

I know, because I got one for Christmas that year.... I was very careful to ask Santa for the exact bike he actually rode...

There are enough posts to suggest changing the title of the thread to "recently deceased celebrities on bikes".
