Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The other Trek tread only has a couple pics, since we have threads for most other bikes, let us try again for our Treks.

Here is mine just returned from a short vacation at the Trek factory in Wisconsin. All is well and it feels better then new. I love this bike, I don’t know if it’s the light weight, carbon, fit, or likely all of the above. It feels great!

If you can’t tell I’m just really excited to have it back!

John

Nice. What do they do for you at the factory? Is this a warranty thing or do you pay to have it done? Neato.

They replaced the derailluer hanger. Still working on who will pay for what with my LBS. Factory turn around was about 10 calendar days including shipping both ways.

My Trek...it's an 04 5900 SL. I just bought it new...apparently once the Madone's came out this one sat in the bike shop for a while. Full Dura Ace....light as a feather....it rocks.

What kind of bars are those Rad? They seem to have a bit longer flat spot on the drops, which I like.

Here's my three:

The 5000...my training and general purpose bike

The 5200 Team Bike...my favorite. It's in showroom condition, I love this freakin' bike!

The 5500 Postal Bike...it's in the process of being restored right now, but is 90% completed.

I really like the ride of the OCLVs. I would like to have a Madone SL one of these years. But for now I've got three really nice ones to ride.

It hardly belongs with beauties like these, but its my baby right now: '06 Pilot 1.2, which as I like to think of it, an entry level bike for a commuter with a need for speed.

How about my 1993 9800? First year Trek used the OCLV frame on an ATB.

Lousy photo as I just walked out to the garage and snapped this as the bike hangs there from the ceiling by its wheels.

I have an OCLV frame MTB too. It's hanging (bare frame) from a hook in the basement right now.

I tried and tried and tried, but I couldn't break it.

I know I'm going to get bashed for the red tires but the wheels were on my old bike and I love these tires and they are brand new but I will switch them for grey ones next season.

I like the red . . . it makes it look more custom and less factory issue.
