Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fitting SMP seat to Scott Addict RC

So my new Addict RC has a D shaped seat post with thee Syncros seat post and clamp. The clamp is meant for a standard seat, not the oval type of post on the SMP. Does Scott/Syncros, or any aftermarket company make an option, either a new seat post or just the clamp, that will allow me to use my SMP saddle?

Doesn't look like it in your pic, but Syncros website says of their current seatposts:

"Proven Syncros clamp design for ease of adjustment. Compatible from 7x7mm up to 7x10mm rails, carbon rails inclusive"

So maybe try it, and/or contact the company. Often clamps are available for 7x9mm rails.

Yea I tried it, I couldn't get it to work.

I like it, I was just very much used to my Lite 209 and would like to run that if possible.

I will keep you posted if I decide to sell, but as of now it looks like I have found the solution. Looks like Scott users are using the Richey seat post clamp with success, and from looking at the photos, it looks the exact same as the clamp on my Scott now. I have it on order and will report back.
