Asia-Pacific tourers, raise your hand...

Who here on this channel lives or has lived, and toured in Asia-Pacific?

I'll start. I live in Indonesia.

Well... I've lived for a year in Oz, including a 6 months camping tour (does it qualify as being part of "the Pacific"?)
I've bike toured two weeks in Japan
I've traveled to China and India

I plan to spend two weeks bike touring in Korea next year
The Lhasa-Kathmandu trek in on my bucket list

The Philippines, Indonesia, Viet-Nam are on our radar.

Will read this thread with great interest.

Hi, thanks for playing...To answer your question, no,, i would not consider Oz 'Asia-Pacific'. To my mind Asia-Pacific is the eleven countries of Southeast Asia plus Taiwan, the PRC, Korea and Japan. To my mind, 'Asia-Pacific' is not only a geographical region, but also a historical and cultural one.

Oh, btw, i am heading to Korea in a month...

I started bike touring while living in Japan. I've toured extensively on all the major islands. IMO it's a fantastic country for cycle touring.

Expat in Taiwan

Hi I’ve lived here a long time. Recommend East Coast. Traffic and pollution are considerations. Taiwanese are friendly.
