No, Joe paid $1500 for the artisan-built custom frame, about 1/3 the going rate...'but think of the exposure you'll get'. And this is the administration whose mantra is 'good-paying union jobs' - go figure.

I don't know about the componentry - donated? The SRAM AXS wireless 1x gearset has a street price of more than Joe paid for the frame.

I think the random mish-mash of black and bright parts is an 'interesting' aesthetic. That might be the look for 2022 as OEMs use any parts they can get.

Hopefully, the Prime Minister will swap the brake cable left&right to British standard before he rides the bike.

If that is the case, they could have stayed within bounds by gifting a BCA Concord SC700 rather than chiseling a custom house.

BJ will probably part it out on ebay.uk. He's notoriously cheap.

What an honor, to have a request of the President to build a bike for the PM of England. I think Bilenky did a great job, in a short amount of time, using his skills making steel frames. Maybe, Boris will have Mercian build a bike for Joe.

The backstory behind British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s New Bike Day - CyclingTips

Are those really cantilever brakes? Given the number of non-accidental close calls between motorists and cyclists in England (reported anecdotally in, e.g., BikeRadar and road.cc), are these brakes designed for regime change?
