Purchased my bike after 15 years!

Hey everyone. This is my newest bike purchase in 15 years. My 1st bike was when I was around 6 years old and it was a RoadMaster bike. After that, I have a fantastic blue Mongoose BMX style bike (which I dearly loved and miss!). I hit the age of driving and never rode a bike since. Bummer, truly. A few days ago, I bought my Trek Verve 2 Disc Lowstep bike. The salesman showed me the bike. I rode it around and fell in love with it! Now, here I am!

I am looking to find some upgrades that I can do to the bike. I added a kickstand, water bottle holder and upgraded the seat. Does anyone have recommendations for a 2" hitch mount rack for my Toyota 4Runner? I have no idea of what i am looking for, so I am for your expertise!

Apparently, I can't upload a picture of my bike until I'm 10 posts in. I'll get there soon enough!

Thank you 10 Wheels and BillyD! I ordered front and rear lights and a few other small things!

In terms of the rack, I'd rather play it safe and buy a well made one. I posted in the General Cycling forum. Much appreciated!

OK... So what did you buy?

Oh... And don't forget the streamers...

By the way... Not kidding, went on a local group ride for the 4th of July few years ago. We attached Red White and Blue streamers to our bikes. It was fun, fun, FUN.

Front Light: Nite Ize - Radiant 750 Rechargeable Bike Light
Rear Light: MapleSeeker Bike Tail Light, Rear Bike Light (Rebranded of a different company. Forgot the name)
Speaker to mount on the Handle Bar: TRIBIT - StormBox BTS10 Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Specialized Air Tool Switch Comp Pump
Specialized Gloves
Specialized Helmet

I talked to one of my friends that lives in Spain and who is an avid cyclist, so he gave me a few pointers. Still figuring out what other things I'd need but that bike rack is what I'd like. I'll learn more as I begin to ride my bike more and more.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is. Building a rack isn't my expertise. More like my brother's expertise lol. I'd rather pay for one for the "peace of mind"

I too quit riding when I started driving... Though i did snap a pedal off my bike on my last ride home before my 16th birthday... Started riding again years later and now I have too many bikes at least according to the misses.

I use an Allen 3 bike rack I picked up from Walmart.

Hello and welcome! My 2Cents... Check into Ergonomic Grips... What an excellent investment IMO. Also, if it's a traditional bike rack you're likely to need an adapter for your frame due to design... Search "Top Tube Crossbar" and you'll understand immediately. (Too new to post a pic for you.) Take care and ride safe.
