Paramount

I'm intrigued but the stem and the "just need money" frightens me. Maybe a good deal for some of you braver people.

Not only the stem, which looks like the tallest possible technomic installed way past minimum insertion, but the forks look strange, like the tips were bent backwards.

oh you're right. Didn't notice the fork. Front wheel is indeed too close to the downtube. But still, good deal for $300? Maybe stolen?

I think the fork is fine. Maybe just the photo angle and the slightly turned to the left wheel. Here's my '83 as a comparison.

ah. So this is probably a fairly recent ('80s) Paramount given the groupset. The $300 is not a good deal then? Unless it's a early 70s? No one here seems excited about it.

It's an 84 according to the add. 300 is a good price, the Brooks alone would bring $50-100

$300 is a great deal. Except for the unusual stem (which is not a deal breaker IMO), I see no concerns. The buyer states it is an '84. Based on the decals and the RD cable routing (under the BB and below the chainstay) it is a late '84. About September-October that year Waterford Paramounts switched the decals to the style pictured and moved the cable routing lower.

Thanks. Distracted by the stem and missed the 84 in the ad. Too bad, too big for me and I'd prefer the true classic Paramounts from the 70s.

I have a '71 P-13 and the '83. Owning an '80s Paramount, especially at a great price like this one, is worth the investment and you should enjoy the difference in ride. Too bad this one is not the correct size.

I would definitely check it out if it was my size. Have not yet seen a Paramount that cheap locally.

I paid that much for my frameset. A 'classic' '92 PDG. Well worth it.
