Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Would this bother you?

Picked this Cervelo RS up today from a friend. Great condition, crazy low price, but wrong fork. Would you leave as is or find the correct fork?

Do you want the fork to change? I don't know why it should matter to me.

Nah...if it means 'forking' out another couple hundred bucks on a set of new blades...If it ain't broken, don't fix it...

*Edit* Not unless the fork rake and geometry was all wrong for the frame and the bike ends up handling like a pig in a snow storm...

If the steerer, length, and rake are correct, run it. Why not?

No.

It's not a classic frame that I would value for what it is; my only concern for new stuff is what it "does".

I would mind it and seek out the “correct” fork assuming I would have bought it with that fork in the first place. However, I’m not you, so I’m not sure how what I would do is helpful.

He used the 3T fork on another build, sold me the frame for $100 and I already had the fork.

Looks like a perfect excuse to go custom paint, IMO. Something sparkly.

$100? Cripes, then - build it up and ride the hell out of it.

that is what it would depend on.

if it’s not a crash replacement, the only problem would be tire clearance. That fork doesn’t have much room for a 25mm tire.

Oh, then I'd be fine with it. Probably try to strip the logos or sand and clearcoat, but nothing wring with a black fork.

The fork does look a little dated. If the dimensions are correct you could do some vinyl wrap like on cars. A friend got a quote of $50 from a sign shop.

I guess it'd depend on if the previous fork was A) recalled or B) inferior.

In either case, no.

If neither, still no. Because that bike is pretty old anyway and sourcing the original fork would probably be a pain (and pricey), if even possible.

Would not mind it nearly as much as I would mind the press fit BB.

After struggling to adjust the seatpost on AG's fancy SystemSix this morning, I'm all good with my next bike being stone-age. I wish I wouldn't have to learn hydro brakes for it.

If it fits, keep it on. Don't worry, us Cervelo owners won't kill you for doing that.
