Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is an imperfect wheel not still a wheel?

Back in the stone age when wheels were first invented and it still had what we would call today "irregularities", but which at that time was the norm, was it not called a wheel?

I'm not familiar with/have never seen the W'bal field... what is it? Looking at my activity chart, I see that I have the option checked but I still don't see the field.
The bests are all related to finally getting a PM.

As I understand it W' is the amount of work in Joules that you can do before exhaustion. W'bal is essentially an estimate of "matches burned." There should be an estimate of W' under your overall curve on your power page. I think if you plug that number in in the settings, it will do W'bal for you. I have read that this measurement is tricky to do right, so this must just be a rough estimate. My W'bal sometimes dips a little below zero, which is obviously impossible. However, it clearly behaves the way I feel and I like seeing that I didn't leave anything on the course.

What's Type III fun?

Okay, so maybe Type II Fun.

Type I Fun
Type 1 fun is enjoyable while it’s happening. Also known as, simply, fun.

Type II Fun
Type 2 fun is miserable while it’s happening, but fun in retrospect. It usually begins with the best intentions, and then things get carried away.

Type III Fun
Type 3 fun is not fun at all. Not even in retrospect. Afterward, you think, “What in the hell was I doing?

I'll have to poke around more for the W'bal - thanks. That does seem like it'd be a tricky, tricky thing to pin down.

I like it. But my paranoid ass would have to have two security cameras facing the roadway before I could be comfortable. And at least one dog.

I got a zip up hoodie in olive green and really like it. I sized down to a medium in that and it fits fine.

Whatever you've been doing you're doing right considering all the bumps in the road you've overcome.

ORLY? Do they run a little big? I'm wearing a L in the Core jerseys and they're slim but not sausage casings.

I wear the L for jerseys too and it’s snug but not a sausage casing like you said.

all of my regular clothes are medium, so I figured it would be fine

Shimano freehubs are held on with a sleeve that threads into the hub. It requires removing the cassette, brake disc, cones, ball bearings and axle to tighten with an Allen wrench, then reassemble.
