Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

seriously, 100 bones!! Nice, I would paint the whole frameset and go custom. Short of a custom paint job I would run it as is if the rake works. Nice pick up!

The rake is the one thing I’m concerned about. I’m not in a hurry with building this, something I’ll mess with over the winter. I’ll probably search for a Funda fork.

Agree that if the back-up fork does not have same rake as OEM you may want to find one that is a better fit. The aesthetics are a minor issue...that said, if you do get a Funda fork, be sure it matches the Flip-Flops!!

No. I would not care. But it's not my bike, so it doesn't matter. If it bothers you, spend the money and put a "matching" fork on.

I think it would be kind of cool to have a cosmetically mismatched fork as long as it matched functionally.

I'd call Cervelo and see if they can get me the right fork. Sometimes the paint is the only thing that changed from one year to the next. That would get me the correct rake, tire clearance, and stiffness commentary with the intended ride quality of the whole bike.

It *would* bother me but probably not enough for me to go through the trouble of finding a new fork. I would, however, pester your friend to swap the original fork for this one.
