I was gonna suggest these but they're 9sp not 8sp.

The only reason I noticed was because the compact double installation did not go well, so I had to put this one back on and noticed the light gap when tuning the FD.
With the compact double on a 113mm BB spindle the FD couldn't reach far enough out to shift in to the big ring, and the Q factor ended up somewhere in the 160mm range
Unfortunately I'm not sure if I can actually find a spindle that will make that crank work on this bike, the shortest I can find is 107mm, and I'm pretty sure that's the bottom limit for 68mm BB shell widths.

When I upgraded the Ritchey from 8 speeds to 10, I kept the old chainrings - till TWICE the chain fell between the rings for a second or two. Ordered the 7700 inner chainring that moves it closer to the outer, but then also ordered a new outer. I was AMAZED when I put them on, along with a new cassette, and a new chain, how silent the drivetrain became and how the shifting got even better.

Regarding your comment about going from 8-10 speeds, I have been wondering if I would need to get 11s specific rings for whatever crank I use. Does the inner ring always define the spacing? That would be great if so.

Assuming it's symmetric, that would still only move the chainrings in 5mm. I think that specific crank is a lost cause.

Yeah grits was another culture shock item I experienced in Tx. Also chicken fried steaks. Seems I was constantly saying WTF when I first arrived down there. I still don’t eat grits.

Next time you think your job sucks....I just saw a guy riding a bike pulling a sign board that reads “YOUR AD HERE.” Rolling billboards. Just what we need.

My parents grew up in Pittsburgh, but they shed a lot of their "Yinzerisms" - like they never said "Yinz", for example. Dad would sometimes say "Arn" for iron, or just a hint of 'warsh' for wash, but that was it. It might have been protective coloration in the small town they moved to after the War - everyone's related to each other and they take a dim view of strangers.

I need to decide which day to do some messy tyre work. To do:
Move plus bike front tyre to the rear, put new plus bike front tyre on.
Replace rear tyre on double boinger 26er
Replace a spoke on the Raleigh So bummed that I broke the spoke after topping off tubeless goop a couple weeks ago. That tyre was bone dry before the re-up.

I was in Breezewood last month during my tour. It’s the “Town of Motels.”

Yeah, that's Breezewood. Junction of I-70 and the Turnpike. Good stopping place maybe 3 hours out of either Pixburgh or Fluffya.

Earlier in the year, I started supplementing with a vegan, chocolate peanut butter cup protein powder. Last week, I heard about and picked up some oat milk that is readily available and that froths really well (Oatly Full Fat). Today, I mixed the two. zOMG. So. So. Good.
