I have a race-x lite hub on a set of old zipp 500 wheels. I'm assuming the hubs are much newer than the rims. I have removed the freewheel but I can't figure out how to remove the wheel bearings themselves out of either the freewheel or axle. I just don't feel like randomly hitting with my large hammer just yet and I can't seem to find any manuels or links online that match this model.

I've never serviced that particular hub, but I have dealt with a few similar. It's most likely the axle will have shoulders inside the bearing that will drive the bearing out with side impact. Use a hammer of softer material than the axle and hit on the drive side first. I would support the hub flange on the opposite side. ABS drain pipe couplers, available at better home building centers everywhere, work well for this.
Should not require herculean force to move it, but sometimes they stick pretty good. The bearing will be toast after removal.

That's a rebadged DT Swiss 240 hub (or 340, the instructions would be the same) look for bearing replacement DT 240. This forum will probably not have many hits, use Google.
