I think the real question should be: where do you want to fix a flat?
France- on a nice day in front of a French bakery
Flat tires are not a big thing. I'll compromise a little puncture resistance in a tire for lighter weight, and lower rolling resistance. Heck, my wife can put a new tube in her tire in about 15-20 minutes on a front wheel. She demonstrated how to fix a flat bike tire for a bike maintenance class we taught. She can even remount the tire onto the rim without using tools. We had 13 flat tires on one of our tours, but that was for two bikes, a lot of goat heads, and 3700 miles of riding.
Or right after the rain stops.

Once got a flat 2 blocks from my house, I took my shoes off and walked. No sense wasting a CO2 when my pump was so close.
Also once has a leak a short distance form the LBS. Rode there and used their repair stand and pump.
Just last week I replaced my front tire due to wear. This is only the second time i had a tire last that long.... never had a flat on that tire.

From the four different flats that were experienced all during one ride as of recently; I give three of them 2 stars, would not recommend & the fourth is a solid three stars, but would still not recommend. Glad to have been prepared with patches & backup tubes.

I don't want to jinx anything, but I haven't had a flat for a few thousand miles. And the last one was at the start of a ride two blocks from home maybe 9 years ago.

I voted for summer, as it reached a scorching 70F yesterday, although I’ve been very lucky and haven’t had a flat since I switched to my Maxxis DTHs. Yet. ::knocks on wooden head and crosses fingers::

I had my first flat tire on a ride in forever a few weekends ago. Was riding with a group from one winery to another, and then back again. Less than a couple miles to the winery I noticed that the road felt pretty rough for some reason. Stopped, and my tire was soft. A friend of mine and I pulled off into the driveway to a cemetery to fix it, didn't realize until several minutes into fixing the tire that the cornfield to our south was blocking the breeze. After about 15 sweaty minutes of changing a tube, we got back on the road and made it to the winery. The frozen mojito concoction I drank there really hit the spot. Hopefully that will be my only flat for a while. I think the last one I had while riding was a couple years ago.
