Cycling in the place I love most and that would be hot and humid "SUNNY SRI LANKA"..! This was just after riding 65+ miles in the heat to one of our favorite hotels to hang out and drink beer and eat lots of spicy food....

I tried to get a new "winter badge" a few years back on the grounds that was what I looked like when I walked in the door. They knew me by then, so I was waved through and laughed at.

I last posted on this thread in 2014. I'm a bit older and not much wiser. But still riding. (Weather permitting).

I have been fooling around with drawing on my new iPad mini. Here is a self portrait using a recent photo as a guide.

I use Procreate. I did a little drawing with pencil and paper about 15 years ago and then briefly tried drawing on a Wacom tablet and enjoyed that but dropped it after a month or two. I got the iPad Mini to replace an ebook reader and the Apple guy mentioned the Apple Pencil and how popular it and Procreate are with digital artists. I decided to give it a shot and really like it. On FB and YouTube there are a lot of tutorials - James Julier is my favorite.

I rode the southern terminus from Natchez to a little north of Port Gibson (46 miles). My wife picked me up and we spent the rest of the day in Vicksburg. It was a good ride and maybe some day I can ride the whole thing.

We stayed in Natchez and it rained just about every day. One morning before the rain hit, I did hill repeats from the casino up to Canal St. I swear that hill has to be 20+% grade in parts. I did it 4 times before my legs said “no mas”.

I rode it end to end last October, starting in Nashville. I was surprised how pitchy it was the last section going into Natchez. I was expecting it to be pretty flat but there was more slope than I’d anticipated. We were trying to finish before the hurricane came in so I had to ride 160 miles the last day. Maybe that’s why it felt hillier**********

Regardless it was a great 4 days.

that’s a long day in the saddle. I think I climbed around 2300 feet in that 46 miles so I’m sure you climbed at least triple that. Ouch!!
