I take 12.5 mg HCTZ every other day. That’s it, I count my blessings.

I had a bout with the prostate thing in my 40s. The urologist told me no caffeine, no pepper or spices, soak in a hot bath 15 minutes per day, and take Ibuprofen twice per day. And stay off the bike for 3 weeks. The longest I stayed off the bike since 1988. Worked like a charm. He also told me stress was a factor, not the first doc to tell me to deal with stress better.

Last night’s bunny smothered in onions, leeks, mushrooms and tomatoes. Great as leftovers.

I was hospitalized in 1999 for it. I had been running high fevers for two weeks before the doc finally hospitalized me. It probably didn't hurt that I threw up in his examining room while shaking, fevering, etc.

I've mentioned before that my grandparents raised rabbits and a lot of other critters. Sunday was fried chicken and rabbit day.
I also ate a few rabbit meals in Mallorca. They are pretty big on rabbit.

It was great! I didn't notice all that much difference, except the rear brakes didn't go *fut-fut-fut-fut* when I used them. The freehub is damn near silent, like the one on the Fulcrum 5s I put on the Bianchi last year. I was too bundled up, and it was chilly (low of 39 degrees, high of 54, average 46 degrees), so I wasn't going for any PRs. In fact this was one of my slowest rides on this route. I felt good, 40 hours post-Boost, but might it have had a mild effect? Who knows?
I think the Fulcrums will have an aero advantage over the old Dura Ace/Aerohead wheels, but those old Dura Ace hubs are so buttery smooth I don't think any wheels would have much advantage there (that's why I still want to rebuild them). I looked up the weight of the Aerohead rims, and they're really light - 405g. A23s would be 450, and Archetypes 470, so whatever I build, or have built, on those hubs will be heavier. C'est la vie.

This Doug tried to beat familial hypertension by riding miles and miles, eating lean meat and bushels of salad, and didn't move the needle on the sphygmomanometer at all, so he bowed to the inevitable. Even losing 30# and riding nearly 6000 miles so far this year didn't help the BP. Or maybe it did, and without that I'd be truly f***ed.

I like rabbit, but Mrs. GeneJockey has decidedly conventional tastes in choosing animals to consume.

I AM a wuss. When I rode with PenVelo, as part of being a club member you had to help out with the Burlingame Criterium, which was a downtown crit. You help set up the barriers, then serve as marshalls on the course, then tear down. The speed and tight pack dynamics, and occasional crashes put me off wanting to race IRL. But I do like Zwift racing, because there's the competition, and tactics, but no crashes.

It's a good thing chicken tastes like chicken, otherwise I probably wouldn't like it.

It sucked.
I didn't have the fever type symptoms, maybe because my pcp had me on antibiotics of one kind or another for a couple months before I was referred to the urologist.

I figure I got a pretty good roll of the genetic dice, compared to my brother, who ended up with lousy lipid metabolism. He had a mild MI at 61 and is now on statins. He said something about the statins pushing him into type 2 diabetes, which surprised me. I guess if it's not one thing, it's two things.

When I first heard of Zwift. and people racing, the first thing that came to my mind was the demise of in real life racing. Not a slam, it's just how it is now. When someone that's Zwift strong enters a crit, it's terrifying, because we aren't images on a screen anymore. It would be funny if it wasn't so scary.
