Does your hitch hang low, does it wobble to and fro?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mine did, until I bought one of these. It totally solved the problem.

Mine doesn't because the receiver bolt is threaded.

My Kuat snugs into the receiver using a build in wedge. No wobble.

But can you tie it in a knot, can you tie it in a bow?

twenty three bucks was worth it for solving five years of annoying wobbling. At one point I even tried using aluminum shims.

Do you need another one when you put the rack in the adapter?

No because the rack fits into the adapter with a threaded receiver bolt.

I have the same on my Jeep. I also thought it was expensive for what it is but having a stationary bike rack sure is nice.

Maybe, but $4 for a u-bolt may be more worth it.

it would work better upside down, so its pulling in the "down" direction, not up, especially when loaded.

its a good idea though, better if it was stainless steel, which i bet it is not.

That isn't something I do. Worst case scenario for me is 4 MTB's and a 10 hour drive to Vermont. I am also not aware of many people towing 5000 lb tandem axel trailers with a class 1 or 2 hitch adapter.
