Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek Equinox TTX reversible seat post ?

I'm a road bike guy. I ride in Tuesday night races and race cross. I recently bought a used Equinox TTX 9.0 from a friend as I'm tired of doing 40 km TT's on my road bike.
This Equinox has a seat post that you can flip to get a steeper angle. It's in the forward position as the bike has been used for ironman. I'm not running after my ride so I flipped it back.
Is there a reason for a roadie to keep it in the steeper position?

I'm also swapping the 53/39 Bontager crank for a new Ultegra 52/39 I had from another project. I'm a 155 pound rider that can't spin a 53/11 unless I'm going downhill. I usually spin around 110-115 racing.
Will one tooth less make a big difference in a TT bike?

If I leave the Hawaii ironman stickers and numbers on, will it make me faster?
